About the "Feast" idea

Feast, the free food festival, is an offshoot of work we've been doing with Food Not Bombs in Prince Edward County since August of 2013.

Food Not Bombs serves free meals in public spaces. It is an international movement of independent collectives that feeds anyone who wants to eat, serving free plant based meals while raising awareness of the fact that poverty, a societal construct of capitalism and governments, keeps access to healthy food from those who need it.

The idea for Feast is to more widely engage the community in the joy of mutual aid and, for one day, to bring everyone together to envision what a better world could be while celebrating our County bounty.
